What happens?

On your first appointment at the Body Align Clinic based in Lewes, a full medical case history will be taken, followed by a physical examination of your symptomatic area (you may be asked to remove some items of clothing). During this assessment you may be asked to perform a few simple spinal or joint movements. If necessary the practitioner will also complete neurological, respiratory or cardiovascular tests.

The practitioner will use their highly developed sense of touch called palpation to assess areas of weakness, tenderness, restriction or strain within your body. The practitioner will discuss with you a provisional diagnosis and if suitable advise a management plan for your condition and discuss the most effective treatment options. Selected treatment techniques will aim at helping to restore normal joint stability, function and provide pain relief from conditions such as Low Back Pain, Sciatica, Neck Pain and stiffness. Long terms goals will also be discussed to ensure full rehabilitation of your condition occurs. Including goals to improve your strength / physical function and minimise any likelihood of the symptoms re-occurring from your shoulder, hip, knee or ankle injury.

The initial assessment and follow-up appointments last up to 45 minutes, normally between 2 and 5 sessions are required during a course of treatment. Many patients from Lewes, Brighton, Hove, Uckfield and Eastbourne decide that they would also like to have periodic preventative treatments to avoid recurring problems.
